Edmond Sparks, born Edward Renes in 1974 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is a musical pioneer with an impressive career spanning over three decades.
His first encounter with DJing took place in 1986, at the age of 12, when his neighbor gave him the opportunity to develop what are now his legendary DJ skills.
From 1990 onwards, Edmond made a name for himself in the Dutch dance and nightlife scene under the stage name Mr. Ed. He later performed under various other aliases, including Renew, Edward R, Diamantje, and Platform Two. His versatility and talent quickly made him a beloved figure in the music world..

Edmond gained his first experience in music production in 1987, collaborating with his cousin Frank Renes. Frank, one of the pioneers of the Dutch underground dance scene, tragically passed away too soon in 1992. However, their collaboration laid the foundation for Edmond’s passion and expertise in crafting unique music productions.
During the iconic 1990s, Edmond collaborated with some of the most renowned clubs and DJs in the Netherlands, such as Bart Skils, Laidback Luke, Party Animals, and institutions like Mazzo, Multi Groove, and Club It. His unique style and charisma earned him a notorious reputation in the dance scene.
The Unification of Music and Techniques.
From 2001 onwards, Edmond shifted his focus to mixing, mastering, and mentoring emerging musical talent.
He worked as a mixing and mastering engineer for prestigious clients such as Disney, L’Oréal, and Pro Audio Mastering.
In 2002, he became the director of Pro Audio Education NL, the first Dutch educational institution for electronic music production. This institute became a springboard for countless talents in the music industry.
Over the past two decades, Edmond has worked behind the scenes to train and guide young artists toward success.
As a DJ, Edmond Sparks is renowned as a true master of vinyl. His impeccable sense of rhythm, timing, and music consistently brings audiences to euphoria. Whether performing digitally, live or on vinyl, he creates a unique atmosphere and is widely regarded as the musical mastermind behind some of the biggest artists in the Dutch dance, pop, and urban scenes.
